I couldn’t wait to get started on this 40th Birthday cake and cupcakes in a masquerade theme. Black, white and gold is such an effective colour scheme and just the cake to get a party started. I loved creating this fabulous cake for Clipper Tea who were celebrating 25 years of working with Fairtrade. The teapot was chocolate sponge cake, middle tier a zesty lemon sponge cake and the base tier a vanilla sponge cake. The entire cake was covered with the Squires Kitchen Sugarpaste which is Fairtrade - I always try and use Fairtrade sugarpaste on my cakes where possible.[...]
