I loved creating this fabulous cake for Clipper Tea who were celebrating 25 years of working with Fairtrade. The teapot was chocolate sponge cake, middle tier a zesty lemon sponge cake and the base tier a vanilla sponge cake. The entire cake was covered with the Squires Kitchen Sugarpaste which is Fairtrade - I always try and use Fairtrade sugarpaste on my cakes where possible.[...]
In anticipation of the extreme weather conditions this week we made and delivered this cake three days earlier than planned to The Goat in Chelsea to ensure it was present for the celebration on Thursday 1st March. This is an 8 inch round Red Velvet Cake, filled with salted caramel buttercream and dark chocolate ganache. The decoration comprised hand made models, airbrushing and hand painted pheasants onto sugar.
