We were delighted to deliver this two sided wedding cake to Botleys Mansion near Chobham in Surrey recently. All details were royal iced by hand on the bridal side whilst on the other side of the cake was a dar chocolate ganache drip with dipped fresh strawberries. One of our favourites this year and its still only January! Our client wanted their wedding cake to have sugar handmade ivory and light pink roses, eucalyptus, hyacinth and grape hyacinth along with a sugar silver Royal Engineers badge. Ruffled Wedding Cakes are very popular as not only do they look stunning but they can be colour themed to your special day. The base tier or this cake comprised four lemon sponge cake layers, filled with lemon buttercream and lemon curd. The middle tier was Red Velvet Cake with Salted Caramel Buttercream and the top tier was Coffee Sponge willed with dark chocolate ganache and caramel buttercream. Each cake was coated in white chocolate ganache before being covered with sugarpaste. We love to see pictures from happy couples with their cake and this one is beautiful! This cake was a raspberry sponge with white chocolate buttercream with a lovely pink chocolate drip and flecks of edible gold leaf. When designing a wedding cake we always want to satisfy both parties with their cake design and this cake was slightly different to the norm. Beautiful fresh flowers in-keeping with the bridal flowers adorned one side of the cake whilst the other side had a superhero bursting out of it.
